-Why do you still keep your opinion like that? – Mercides asks.

-The things happened in the past, but how can we… how can we assure that they will not happen in the future? Aldor is still around us. – Jennifer answers.

-I know that, but we cannot base on those bad things to predict the future.

-Yup, I still wonder why Aldor stopped following us from that time.

-I have no idea, maybe the time he just lost his right chance at the right time.

-Okay, I will think about those bad things. I will think carefully about the relationship between Kelvin and Joanna. I know they deserve a chance, they need to be happy, but in a right way.

-It is good to hear that from you. – Mercides nods.

Jennifer stands up and takes her bag with her.

-Anyway, I need to say thank you. We have been having misunderstandings for a very long time. – Jennifer says. – Hope that everything will be okay.

Mercides also stands up and walks to Pauleen’s place.

-Thank you, Pauleen! – Mercides says.

-I only do what I can, I have been a friend of Joanna for many years, I do not want her to be upset more. – Pauleen replies. – Please do not worry, the true lovers will be together.

-How does everything go on? – Jessie asks when she sees Jennifer coming back.

-Is that you have to work overtime? – Jennifer asks with a bothered voice.

-Yes, we did. But I need to have some time to think more about Kelvin and Joanna.

-Wow, it means that everything was clear.

-Yeah, your food is on the table in the kitchen. I need to take a rest.

-Joanna, are you awake? – Jessie knocks on the door.

-I still work on the lesson for my students tomorrow. – Joanna replies.

-Here is the food from Pauleen’s restaurant.

-It means… - Joanna’s expression becomes brightly.

-Yup, Mom had a conversation with Miss Mercides. And she said she needed time to think more about you and Kelvin. It seems that your love has a chance.

The next day, Joanna goes to her school, she sees David waiting for her in front of the school entrance.

-David, what are you doing here? – Joanna wonders.

-Well, I heard that your mother did not accept Kelvin. I do not know why, but I only think that I will have a chance with you. – He gives her flowers.

-Sorry, I do not want to make you disappoint but my mother has just changed her mind.

-No way, your mother is a decisive lady. She cannot change her mind just in a night.

Joanna rejects the flowers and walks into the school.

-Joanna, you will be mine, it is just a matter of time. – David looks at her shadow.

Joanna walks to the teachers’ room and sits down next to Dessa.

-Wow, Joanna, you look better today. Is that your mother accept Kelvin? – Dessa asks.

-Still not, but at least, we have a chance. – Joanna replies. – Was everything good when I was absent? Did the students make a mess in the classes?

-Nope, they were very good. They always asked me about your status and when you would come back with them. What a beloved teacher of the kids!

-Hey, everyone, the new president is coming! – Olisa runs into the room.

-The new president? – Joanna surprises.

-Yup, Miss Sachez had problems with her health, she needed to have time to take care of herself. – Dessa replies and arranges her documents.

-I heard that this new president is a Ph.D. from England. – Olisa says.

-Well, so she must be a very good one! – Joanna smiles.

-Everyone. – The school assistant claps his hand. – Please welcome, Miss Katrina Morales.

-Katrina Morales? – Joanna surprises.

-What are you doing, Joanna? – Dessa holds her hand and gets her to stand up.

Katrina walks into the room and gets handclaps from the teachers. She looks at Joanna and winks her eyes to her. Joanna has not believed that this world is so small like that.

-Hi everyone, I studied Ph.D. in England and had researched in people and community for several years, hope to have your collaboration!

-Okay, here you are. – Pauleen brings the food to Kelvin.

-Thank you so much. – Kelvin receives with a smile.

-Your mood is better now.

-Yup, finding out a solution to the problems is the best thing now.

-Kelvin, actually, Joanna cares much about you. She did not want me to tell you, but I think I should.

-I know that she cares much, but her mother is keeping her from bad things which used to hurt her mother a lot in the past.

-Yup, Joanna does not want her mother to get angrier, so she called me for following you.

-That is the reason why you appeared at the right time.

-Yup, there are many things naturally happening, however, not all of them.

-I understand, that makes me love her more.

-I am happy to hear that. Okay, have your meal and go home early, your mother must be worried much about you. – Pauleen says and goes back to the kitchen.

The next day, Mercides is preparing to go to work. She sees Kelvin sitting on the stair.

-Do you go to work today? – She asks.

-Nope, I have asked for some annual leave days. – He replies.

-I can understand your feeling, but I do not know what to do for helping.

-I and Joanna have a friend, she can handle to take a meeting for you and Miss Jennifer.

-That sounds good, but how can we make Jennifer come to meet me?

-She has a plan, you only need to appear on time at the right place.

-Okay, that is easy for me. Give me the info, I will arrange my work for that.

That is Wednesday, and Jessie comes to Pauleen’s restaurant as usual. After giving her what she orders, Pauleen takes her hand and leads her to a corner of the restaurant.

-Pauleen, you want to talk with me? – Jessie wonders.

-Yup, I want to help Joanna and Kelvin. – Pauleen replies.

-How? Can I help? I do not want to see Joanna’s upset face every day.

-Next week, you need to arrange your work and ask your mother to come here for buying food. Kelvin will ask his mother to come here too, they will meet and Miss Mercides will explain everything to Miss Jennifer, and all the things will be clear.

-Is it okay? I do not know if my mother agrees.

-Do not let your mother know anything, you just need her to go here.

The next Wednesday, Mercides comes to Pauleen’s restaurant as Kelvin said. Pauleen arranges a seat for her to ignore Jennifer to see from a far place.

Jessie does not arrange her works as Pauleen requested, instead of that, she stays in her office until a little bit late in the evening. She then calls to Jennifer.

-Mother, I need to work overtime today. – Jessie says.

-Okay, so take care of yourself. – Jennifer replies. – Anything else?

-I want to eat special dishes from Pauleen’s restaurant as usual.

-You can get there after work. I need to keep my eyes on Joanna.

-Mother, please, just some minutes to go there and get the food. I will order right now.

-You can ask for express delivery. Why do you need me to come there?

-Mom, you know that Pauleen does not have the delivery service.

-Okay, okay, I will go to get the food, my “Sweet” daughter.

Jennifer gets a coat and her car’s key to go to Pauleen’s restaurant.

-Joanna, you know what you should do, do not dare to meet Kelvin when I am going out. I will come back in some minutes. – Jennifer says to Kelvin.

-Kelvin, does your mother come to Pauleen’s place? – Joanna calls him when Jennifer gets in her car.

-Of course, how about Miss Jennifer? – Kelvin asks.

-My mother has just left. She will be there in some minutes.

Joanna also texts for Pauleen to ask Mercides ready for the meeting. Jennifer comes to the restaurant and walks into. Mercides sees her and stands up, walks close to Jennifer’s place.

-Jennifer, we need to talk! – Mercides holds her hands.

-Mercides? – Jennifer surprises. – Let go of me!

-People are looking at you, please, Jennifer, just some minutes.

Jennifer sits opposite Mercides and their conversation starts. Jennifer does not say anything, Mercides brings out a medal and explains things that happened in the past to her. Jennifer cries and cannot hold on to her emotions. Mercides also cries and hugs her friend after many misunderstandings years.

-So, can you let Kelvin continue with Joanna? – Mercides asks.

-Kelvin, you are a good guy, you will find out someone better than our Joanna, please forgive me, I cannot let her be with Mercedes! – Jennifer replies.

-Mother, please… no… - Kelvin tries to convince her when she closes the window.

-Mother, should we listen to Miss Mercedes’ explanation once? – Jessie asks.

-If she could explain to me, she have done it many years ago. – Jennifer answers. – Even though she explains to me, how can I know that if it is the truth?

-Mother… - Jessie tries to explain.

-Enough, you should go to bed early for tomorrow's work. – Jennifer cuts her sentence. – Joanna, you should sleep also. Ignore that guy!

Kelvin still stands in front of Joanna’s house, she walks close to the window and looks at him. Her tears fall down, she does not know what she should do now. She does not believe that Mercedes did bad things for her mother without a reason. She wants to rescue her relationship with Kelvin, and much more, she does not want to lose him.

Kelvin walks along the pavement with no emotion. His eyes look at the pointless aim, he does not know what to do. He passes across the street, not knowing that a container is coming near him. The driver presses the bell many times although not see Kelvin, however, he does not notice. Until the container gets very close to him, a hand catches his hand and pulls him onto the pavement.

-Kelvin, do you want to die? – It is from Pauleen, Joanna’s friend.

-Pauleen, I do not know what I need to do. – He holds his head.

-Okay, let’s go to my restaurant.

She gets some tea for him and gives him a large towel to cover his shoulder and chest.

-The weather is a little bit cold. You should take care of yourself.

-Thank you. Does my relationship with Joanna go to an end? – He rubs his hair strongly.

-Tell me what happened. Maybe I can help!

Kelvin tells Pauleen about the meeting in the restaurant, the past of the two mothers, and the conversation he had with Jennifer some hours ago.

-What a pity situation! – Pauleen shakes her head.

-I have no idea about fate is playing with me and Joanna.

-Well, you are sure that your mother had her own reasons to do those things?

-Absolutely. My mother would not do any bad thing to others. I know that!

-Okay, so the problems are: first, your mother did not tell the whole truth to everyone; second, Miss Jennifer does not want to listen to the explanation; and third, all of you do not know how to connect the two mothers in a meeting.

-You are right, those are my problems now.

-Kelvin, I think I can help you.

-Really? Please tell me what I should do.

-Jessie, Joanna’s sister, gets here every Wednesday for having a day-out-dinner for her family. We can base on this to take place a meeting for your mother and Miss Jennifer.

-But how? Jessie will get here, not Miss Jennifer.

-You only need to convince your mother to come here next week evening. I will take responsibility for the rest things needed to do.

-Thank you so much, Pauleen!

-Are you hungry? I think you have not had your dinner.

-I do not have the mood to eat.

-Now you have. Let me get you some food.

Pauleen walks into her kitchen. While waiting to warm the food, she takes out her phone and calls Joanna. Actually, Joanna was worried much about Kelvin, she could not get out of her house, so she contacted Pauleen for help. Pauleen went to Joanna’s house right after her call and followed Kelvin secretly when he left the house. Joanna also asked Pauleen for helping to calm him down and finding a solution for them. She could not let her mind rest when he was still alone on the street, and she knew that without a solution, Kelvin would not go home.

-Hello, Pauleen? – Joanna takes the call.

-Joanna, the mission is accomplished. – Pauleen replies.

-How is he now? – Joanna worries.

-Cold and hungry, I am getting some food for him.

-Thank you so much, Pauleen. I did not know who could help me.

-We are friends, Joanna, not only me, Dessa and Olisa are also willing to help you when you need us. That is the reason for our relationship, you also helped us much in recent years. You even introduced me to my husband and helped to connect us together.
