-Get mine. – Joanna opens her closet to find something for Katrina.

-Joanna, you have no change from the last time we met in England. – Katrina smiles.

-Nope, at least I have a boyfriend now. – Joanna turns back and gives Katrina a dress.

-You still remember my favorite color?

-Of course, you do not like pepper, soybean, and carrot.

-Impressive! – Katrina surprises. – It was almost 4 years.

-You were my best friend in England, so how can I forget about your favorite things? Give a try with this dress, and prepare for our “family” dinner.

Katrina gets the clothes and exchanges her old ones. She follows Joanna downstairs and smells the delicious food of Jennifer.

-Wow, this is the true “home” food smell! – Katrina praises.

-Yup, my mother is a very traditional cook!

-Mom, I am home! – Jessie opens the door.

-Hi Jessie! – Katrina greeds her.

-Oh… You are… Katrina, right? – Jessie surprises. – The researcher worked with Joanna on her Master’s project in England.

-Oh, yes, that is me! – Katrina smiles. – Nice to meet you!

-Nice to meet you, too! – Jessie shakes Katrina’s hands.

-Jessie, wash your hand, our dinner is ready! – Jennifer says from inside of the kitchen.

-Let me help you, Miss Jennifer! – Katrina walks in.

-Okay, bring this! – Jennifer gives a dish to Katrina. – Be comfortable as your home.

The four ladies sit around the table. Katrina looks at them with shining eyes, it has been a long time that she did not have family’s dinner like this.

-Katrina, let’s have your dinner. Do not be shy! – Jennifer says.

-Try this, it is my mother’s best dish! – Joanna puts some food into her bowl.

-Katrina, how about your parents? – Jennifer asks.

-My parents… died 15 years ago, in a car accident, I have lived with my cousin, Miss Mercides, until my college and then moved out to live alone before my Ph.D. period in England.

-Oh, so sorry, I did not mean to remind you about your sad story. – Jennifer confronts.

-So that, as I told you, sis Katrina is a very independent woman, she does almost everything herself. – Joanna says. – Just as you, Mom, a strong lady.

-I admire you much, Miss Jennifer, you can raise your daughters alone in many years, and both of you are successful now. – Katrina pauses for a while.

-If you do not mind, you can usually come here with us. – Jennifer suggests.

-Really? Thank you so much.- Katrina smiles.

-You know, it is not easy to be Joanna’s friend. – Jessie explains. – If you are her best friend, you must be a special one out of them.

-Jessie, I am not a lion. – Joanna yells. – Do not tell anyone of my friend like that.

-Actually, I feel that, too. Joanna was keeping her heart too tight, not easy to open to anyone. – Katrina agrees. – It might be the result of losing her hope by a very important person.

-Okay, please do not remind me about that guy. – Joanna says.

-Because she has a really special guy to take care of now. – Jessie laughs.

There is a doorbell. Joanna puts her chopsticks on the table and walks to open the door. No one is other, Kelvin is standing there.

-Kelvin! – Joanna surprises and hugs him.

-Okay, your neighbors are looking at us. – Kelvin rubs her back.

-Get in! I am not expecting that you are back too early!

-So you are hiding something? – He wonders.

-She is hiding me from you. – Katrina walks out.

-Sis Katrina, you also are here? – Kelvin surprises.

-Do you remember the researcher working with me in England, who I told you? – Katrina asks.

-Do not tell me, that lady was Joanna? – Kelvin guesses.

-Yup. – Katrina puts her arm around Joanna’s shoulder. – This world is too small, huh?

-And we have just mentioned you, Kelvin. – Joanna says.

-I hope we have just mentioned diamonds or gold. – Katrina laughs.

-Oh, I am her diamond! – Kelvin holds Joanna’s hand.

-Do not think that you are too precious like that! – Katrina laughs.

-Okay, my diamond, are you hungry? – Joanna pushes him into the kitchen.

-You should take a nap, David. – Aldor says. – I can see you are tired after meeting that lady, Katrina, she is not an easy person to play with.

-Okay, Father. – David replies. – I will let you know if I have any news about Joanna and Katrina. I have asked some inspectors to investigate about that lady.

-You should ask more of them to follow Kelvin and Mercides, also. They are important people in our plan, too. However, you must be careful, Mercides broke my plan once, she can do another. That woman has always been following us.

-I know, Father. I will go first.

After talking with Aldor, David returns to his room, but he just closes the door for his father to see. He waits for Aldor’s footsteps and lightly opens the door to follow his father. Aldor leaves the reading room, where he has just talked with David, and goes to another room. David carefully follows him, Aldor opens the mysterious room, which he always warns his son not to open in all situations, and gets in. David runs to the room and opens the door a bit but his father is nowhere to be found, just the same with many other chances he followed him.

About Aldor, he opens the door of the mysterious room and goes inside. He looks at a strange picture for some seconds and touches it, a dark cloud of smoke comes from inside of the picture and covers his body, then he disappears into the picture, right before David opens the door.

On Katrina’s car, Joanna feels weird when knowing that Katrina is Kelvin’s relative sister. She thinks that the world is too small and somehow, she and Kelvin has destiny together. Their mothers used to be best friends, and now, her elder researcher is Kelvin’s sister.

-Joanna. – Katrina breaks the silence. – Do you want to eat something?

-Oh, nope, my mother always prepares dinner for me and my younger sister. – Joanna replies.

-That is why you always missed your mother’s dishes when you studied in England, right?

-Yup, but for now, I have more dishes to miss every day.

-Kelvin’s? – Katrina wonders. – I also admire him much in his cooking ability.

-As I remember, you also said you missed someone’s dishes when we met. Was that about Kelvin?

-Of course, he is the outstanding one in my relatives. However, you know, not lucky in love stories.

-Wow, he never tells me about his love journey, and I also did not want to remind him about the past.

-He has no love in past. – Katrina laughs.

-What? – Joanna surprises. – How can it be?

-Very surprisingly, right? A handsome guy, with cooking talent, and a stable career, has not had a true love for many years.

-Well, I have never thought about that could happen.

-Yup, Joanna, you are his first love. – Katrina touches her shoulder. – I met him yesterday, and I have not seen his eyes with sparkles when talking about you, no scene liked that in the past.

-Unluckily, he is not my first love.

-I know, he knows, but he could change your heart, the thing I had not thought any guy could do, except Jason. Besides, no news about Jason?

-He just… disappeared like a wind. Never come back, however, his presence in my life is not important anymore. – Joanna says with a sad voice.

-Really? You can really give him up?

-Actually, I have no idea, I just want to have a peaceful life with Kelvin, who brought light to my life once again. Others are not my priority anymore.

-I am happy to hear that.

-Oh, this is the road leading to my home. – Joanna points.

-Okay. – Katrina turns her car to the road.

-Do you want to have dinner with my family?

-Well, I am waiting for that invitation. – Katrina smiles.

Joanna and Katrina get out of the car, she leads Katrina into her house. Jennifer is cooking in the kitchen.

-Mom, I am home! – Joanna walks to the kitchen.

-Okay, take a little nap while waiting for Jessie. – Jennifer says.

-This is my friend, Katrina. – Joanna introduces.

-Katrina? Is she the researcher who worked with you in England? – Jennifer wonders.

-Yup, that is me. – Katrina smiles. – Nice to meet you, Miss Jennifer.

-Oh, thank you a lot for helping my little Joanna in England. – Jennifer cleans her hands to shake Katrina’s.

-She will have dinner with us today, okay, Mom? – Joanna says.

-Of course, welcome, wait for me for some minutes, I am finishing the meals. – Jennifer smiles. – Joanna, lead her to your room to wash hands and face, taking a nap, too.

-Okay, mom. – Joanna leads Katrina to the stairs.

-Your mother is so beautiful at her age, Joanna. – Katrina whispers.

-Of course, my mother used to win a beauty contest. – Joanna smiles. – Follow me, do you have works to do tonight? Do you want to stay here with me a night?

-It is okay but I do not have extra clothes. – Katrina says.

Joanna feels happy and excited about the appearance of Katrina. They had a good time together when she studied in England, Katrina is a kind-hearted person and she is also very good at her works, a very responsible person. Between the handclaps of people in the school, Katrina smiles with Joanna and slightly nods her head.

Joanna goes to her class and finishes her lesson for the students early. She gets them to have some time for studying themselves. Collecting the documents and cleaning the board, she thinks about Kelvin and Katrina. Kelvin has a scene to record today with the film team, so he will not catch her in the evening after the class. She wonders if David still wants to talk with her, this guy has been crushing her for a long time. However, she only treats him as a brother, she just cannot accept his love, she even does not know why. Many people see that David is suitable for her, he is also a kind guy, but she does not know why.

At lunchtime, Joanna and Olisa are sitting together, Katrina gets her tray of food and walks to their place.

-Can I sit here? – Katrina asks.

-Of… Of course, Miss President. – Olisa replies.

Joanna returns to the teachers’ room after lunch to take a quick nap, the argument between her mother and Kelvin’s mother almost took all the time she had last week. She cannot rest her mind until her mother accepts Kelvin and agrees with their proposal.

The evening comes, Joanna finishes her class and brings some documents with her to go home. Not out of her prediction, David knows Kelvin will not catch her this evening. He is waiting for her at the entrance of the school with a bunch of flowers.

-Joanna. – He calls her. – I am waiting for you.

-David, I do not think we have anything to talk about! – Joanna replies.

-Please, Joanna, just a coffee with me. Kelvin is busy today, therefore, there will be no one bringing you home. – He says with a begging voice.

-I can go by bus. It was my routine before meeting Kelvin.

-Joanna. – He holds her hand. – Just a while.

-Joanna. – Katrina gets out of her car when seeing her and David.

-Sis Katrina. – Joanna calls for help. – Thank you for bringing me home today.

-Katrina? Who are you? I have not met you before. – David surprises.

-I am her sister. – Katrina replies and takes his hands out of Joanna’s.

-Sister? – David laughs. – I have known Joanna for years, she only has a younger sister, Jessie. So how can she have an elder sister?

-Joanna is going to marry Kelvin, I am Kelvin’s sister, so hers, too. – Katrina answers.

-You are Kelvin’s sister? – Joanna surprises.

-Yup, he asks me for helping him to bring you home today. – Katrina holds Joanna’s hand and walks to her car. – Young man, I do not know what kind of relationship between you and Joanna, even you are her friend, if you force her to do the things she does not want, I can call the police for help.

-He is my friend, sis Katrina, however, it is just a sensitive time for me to talk with him. – Joanna says and follows Katrina. – David, you should go first, I will talk with you when I am ready.

They get in Katrina’s car and she drives away.

“Sister? Well, Kelvin, Joanna, the game is much more exciting.”, David smirks and throws the bunch into a garbage bin near the entrance. He gets in his car.

-Father, I think that this woman, Katrina, has something special. She can be a big obstacle for us in approach Joanna. – David says to a man.

-I know, however, everything will be okay. No one can stop us this time. I had lost a chance in the past due to that annoying woman, Mercides. – Replied by his father, Aldor.

The next day, Joanna goes to her school, she sees David waiting for her in front of the school entrance.

-Still not, but at least, we have a chance. – Joanna replies. – Was everything good when I was absent? Did the students make a mess in the classes?

-Nope, they were very good. They always asked me about your status and when you would come back with them. What a beloved teacher of the kids!

-Hey, everyone, the new president is coming! – Olisa runs into the room.

-The new president? – Joanna surprises.

-Yup, Miss Sachez had problems with her health, she needed to have time to take care of herself. – Dessa replies and arranges her documents.

-I heard that this new president is a Ph.D. from England. – Olisa says.

-Well, so she must be a very good one! – Joanna smiles.

-Everyone. – The school assistant claps his hand. – Please welcome, Miss Katrina Morales.

-Katrina Morales? – Joanna surprises.

-What are you doing, Joanna? – Dessa holds her hand and gets her to stand up.

Katrina walks into the room and gets handclaps from the teachers. She looks at Joanna and winks her eyes to her. Joanna has not believed that this world is so small like that.

-Hi everyone, I studied Ph.D. in England and had researched in people and community for several years, hope to have your collaboration!
